Several customers asked me to add earrings to my Etsy store that would match the style of my bracelets.... so today, I added my first pair. I plan to add more. They are simple, yet elegant. Lightweight in your ears. They are made with vintage Swarovski crystals and 22 gauge silver over copper wire. Keep an eye out for more earrings, which will be added soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

New Bracelets Added Today
Today, I added four new Charm Bracelets to my Etsy store. The first is made with light blue Swarovski vintage beads.
The next bracelet is a beautiful green vintage Swarovski bracelet and they are all made with Golden Brass wire, using the "unbreakable" wire wrapping technique. They look beautiful as a single bracelet or worn all together. :-)
The vintage fire polished Czech beads make a beautiful red bracelet with hints of blue and silver.
The fourth bracelet is made with elegant vintage Swarovski black beads. All of my bracelets in this group have a silver colored cross charm and a handmade charm with vintage crystals.
These are the four new bracelets side by side.
I am working hard to get read for the Christmas gift season. Adding more items to my store every few days. I take my time and enjoy making each one and since they are handmade, each one is an individual and made with love.
Have a wonderful day!

Saint Francis of Assisi - Animal Lover's Saint
St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment. St. Francis' devotion to God was expressed through his love for all of God's creation. St. Francis cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God.
"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men." Francis of Assisi
"In 1979, Pope John Paul II paid tribute to Francis' love for creation by declaring him the patron saint of ecologists. In a subsequent speech, the Pope encouraged Catholics to follow the example of Saint Francis by embracing all creatures as members of a single family and by offering respect, dignity, and care to each family member." The Humane Society of the United States
"Lord, grant that I might not so much seek to be loved as to love." Saint Francis of Assisi

New Coral & Brass Five Decade Rosary and Two New Bracelets
Tonight, I have added two new bracelets and a unique, lightweight 5 Decade Rosary.
The bracelets are made using the "unbreakable" wire wrapping technique and is my favorite design. I believe the bracelets are very feminine and beautiful with the Swarovski vintage beads wrapped with golden brass wire.
I hope you like the newest rosary that I added this evening. I wanted to make a rosary that was light in weight and used a light vintage bead for those who want to carry a rosary with little weight so that the rosary was very light in your hand.
I hope you take a look at these new items in Let Our Light Shine.

Rosaries and a Chaplet
Today I added a beautiful purple Czech glass five decade rosary to my collection in my Etsy store. I loved the centerpiece and St. Benedict Italian silver crucifix. Each of the purple Czech beads are vintage and are a light lilac purple. In addition, I have added fire polished darker purple Our Father beads which add to the beauty of this Catholic Rosary.
I also completed a One Decade Rosary using fire polished red vintage beads with "unbreakable" wire wrapping technique and a Swarovski 5000 vintage bead as the Our Father bead. The centerpiece is Divine Mercy on one side and Our Lady of Fatima on the reverse side. The centerpiece and crucifix are made with Italian silver. The wire is 22 gauge silver plate over copper. It's perfect for your pocket or purse.
The third item I added today is a St. Teresa de Avila Chaplet using Light Turquoise Swarovski 5000 round vintage beads. The wire is 20 gauge silver plated over copper and the medal and St. Benedict crucifix is made of Italian silver.

New designs added today
Fall weather is tip toeing into Florida... As I am thinking about fall decorations, I walk into almost any store and what do I see? Christmas decorations! It just seems like yesterday that Christmas was months away... and now, Christmas is less than two months away. Gifts... gifts... gifts.
With this thought in mind, I have added three more items to my online store. Christmas shopping is right around the corner so I hope to add more items in the next few weeks.
First, I have added a St. Benedict Chaplet. It really is a super chaplet because the St. Benedict medal is used for protection from the devil. Here is a recent quote from Pope Francis, “The devil is here…even in the 21st century! And we mustn’t be naïve, right? We must learn from the Gospel how to fight against Satan.” If you google, St. Benedict medal meaning, you will have a lot of interesting reading about this saint and his medal.
I have a lot of new designs planned. Have a super week!
God Bless,
Jen

The second item I added today was an Anglican Rosary with a Celtic cross. I wanted to add prayer beads for my Episcopalian friends. Both of these two items are adorned with vintage Swarovski crystals.

Five Decade Rosaries - Vintage Beads
https://www.etsy.com/listing/456005170/rosary-handmade-catholic-gifts-swarovski?ref=shop_home_feat_2
If you have any suggestions about what you would like to see on my LetOurLightShine.us site in the way of rosaries, Christian jewelry, etc., please send me a note or leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you.
If you do not know how to say the rosary, here is a link from EWTN with a tutorial:

On a personal note, things are beginning to get back to normal for me after the hurricane. I still have my privacy fence lying on the ground in the backyard but all of my dogs are safe inside a smaller fence close to the back of my house. I'm thankful that I put up the small fence for my small dogs since I used to worry about them sliding under the larger fence through a hole created by a opossum or raccoon. All of the dogs, big or small, stay within the smaller fence.
As a Christian vegan, there are no animal products used in any of the items sold on my site.
God Bless,
Jen :-)

New Pope Francis Chaplet - New Antiqued Copper Bracelet - Awaiting Hurricane Matthew
Hurricane Matthew is right around the corner as we wait on updates in Central Florida. The last hurricanes (yes, I said hurricanes) that I experienced in force were in 2004 when I had just moved into my current house and FOUR hurricanes came through Florida that year. We had no power for two weeks and spent most of our time, after the first storm, sitting in lawn chairs in the front yard because it was so hot. After those four storms, I purchased storm shutters and have not used them since. However, this month, this year, they may be pulled out again and I'm hoping they still fit. Of course, we could just get a little wind, if it stays off shore but I don't think we can ever be overly confident and must prepare with the basics... water, food, and of course pet food.
In the meantime, I am enjoying adding a couple of new designs in my Etsy shop. One is a Pope Francis Chaplet which is made with beautiful vintage Swarovski clear crystals. These beautiful crystals pick up all the colors in the rainbow when they hit bright light. I took photos in indirect light from the sun and the blue from the sky is picked up beautifully in the crystals. Pope Francis loves animals and so do I, being a Christian vegan myself, this quote from Pope Francis really stands out to me: “Every act of cruelty towards any creature is ‘contrary to human dignity.'” Please take a look at the new chaplet with Pope Francis medal just added to my shop today.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/482968359/handmade-pope-francis-chaplet-with?ref=shop_home_feat_1
I also added an antiqued copper bracelet which I enjoyed making out of raw copper wire, then antiqued. I double wrapped each section and used the unbreakable wrapping technique which gives such strength to each piece. This bracelet is one of the few that do not have a Christian charm. I didn't add a charm because it may be used by a woman or a man. It will just depend on the size of the wrist. Please take a look at this bracelet. I want to make one to keep, as I truly love the way it looks.
***Free Shipping on all items in my
Etsy store!***
As we keep our eyes peeled on Hurricane Matthew, I have a few projects planned to keep me busy. Many prayers for all those people in the storm's path and I'm praying for a hedge of protection around my loved ones.
God Bless!

Etsy vs. Pattern
Today, I made the choice to uninstall my Pattern site on Etsy. I was still in the free for thirty days timeline and the whole reason I added the Pattern site was because I wanted to draw more viewers to my eStore. Some may say that I didn't give it enough time but after a bit of research, in my opinion, Pattern is just a fancy template of the same page for $15 dollars extra a month.
Having bought domain names and purchased and published websites, my goal was to be able to add meta tags into my site so that Google and other search engines would find me. However, when adding Pattern to your eStore, you are still not in control. So, for me, Pattern is a great format to look at, but it did not bring any new traffic to my store in the weeks I used it.
My domain name, which is LetOurLightShine.us will be directed to this blog and from there, customers may choose to go into Etsy and purchase an item they have found.
I'm learning as I go and right now, I don't pay for any advertising because I am spending all of my time building my inventory of items. I still feel like I have creative designs in my head to add before paying for advertising. In the meantime, I am sharing new items on my social media sites.
The problem for new store owners at Etsy, due to the HUGE number of sellers on the site, is to be FOUND! At this time, I want to spend all of my money on materials and enjoy the design process. I don't want to sell anything mass produced. Each item is unique in its own way and when someone buys something from me, they have confidence that it was handmade in my studio and not mass produced and thereby loosing it's uniqueness.
Someday, I hope to be able to share how my eStore was found. In the meantime, it's off to more creative wire wrapping.
Have a wonderful day!
God Bless,
Jen

Patron Saint Charm Necklaces - St. Francis of Assisi
Two new Christian necklaces have been added to my Etsy store in the last few days. I'm so excited to add two new additional items and also add an additional section of items (necklaces) to be able to expand my handmade Christian gifts!
I experimented with my design for a charm pendant in stainless steel. I have had many requests for items made in stainless steel particularly customers who have reactions to other metals. I was so excited with this design that I kept the first necklace for myself. :-)
Stainless steel wire is very hard and I use different tools for this wire because it is difficult to cut and bend compared to the softer metals. When I was making several rosaries out of stainless steel, I developed several callus on my hands right away due to the strength of the wire. At the same time, it is super lightweight and a joy to wear. It's amazing how something can be so strong and yet so lightweight.
Each of these necklaces may have additional charms added by the customer. I do not use regular jump rings. I always use key chain style jump rings so that charms or parts of the item does not come apart.
Here is a sample of the new necklaces:
Some may ask why I did not list these two necklaces and just give the option of dove or cross charm since the materials and design are basically the same. Since my clasps are individually made, as well as the charm pendant, I want to make sure my customers can look at each individual necklace prior to purchase. Genuine handmade items are individual items and do not look like they were made exact like a machine so there may be slight variations in the wire. Through each item's photographs, customers may choose the exact item they prefer.
Hope you like my new charm necklaces. Please sign up for updates by adding your email to our list. I plan to make more necklaces in the near future with various Patron Saints, crosses, and charms.
Free Shipping on EVERY order!!
Have a super day!
God Bless!

New Sterling Silver over Copper Bracelet Wire Wrapped Unbreakable Design
I loved this bracelet so much I almost kept it! LOL The beads on this bracelet are vintage and made in Germany. They are beautiful and the combination of silver and black is gorgeous!
I used the unbreakable wire wrapping technique and two beads with a spiral, two with wire across the bead, and four that are regular wire wrapped beads.
As always, my signature Christian charm is included. On this bracelet, it is an open cross charm.
FREE SHIPPING on every order!
Please stop by and give my new items a look. Don't forget to sign up with your email if you want a notice for each blog post which will include special sales and coupon codes in the future.
Take care and God Bless!

Unique Copper Bracelet added today!
Are you looking for something unique created in copper? Then I have the bracelet for you!
I love experimenting with new styles and designs. Today, I have added an "unbreakable" wire wrapped copper bracelet. I enjoy using vintage beads in my designs to create an item that can not be easily duplicated. My signature to each piece of jewelry is to add a Christian charm.
I am a Christian Vegan and usually work with a variety of rescue dogs nearby. None of my designs include leather or animal products.
When I am shopping online, I love to puchase with Free Shipping, so I have added Free Shipping to ALL items in my shop!
Currently, I only ship to the USA but plan to add additional countries in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

One Decade Rosary Bracelet - FREE SHIPPING! & Orphan Squirrel Rescue
After a family weekend, I returned to work today to finish a One Decade Rosary Bracelet. I've wanted to add one to my shop for a while and also wanted to add the feature of two areas to connect the clasp, so it would make the bracelet two sizes, depending on where you attach the handmade clasp. If you like it, please take a look at this one decade rosary bracelet with additional photos:
***If you would like to know about new items in my store and special event sales, please sign up with your email address. ***
On a personal note, as I mentioned in recent posts, I am a major animal lover! I love my pets and also wildlife. I recently found a squirrel's nest in my mother's yard that was blown down by major winds we were having during a tropical system. It was the largest squirrel that I've ever seen in a nest and it was alone. I would have left it for its mother to find, but there were several cats waiting for me to walk away so I had no choice but to take it with me. Plus, the storm was actively in progress. Fortunately, I found a local woman who ran a certified rescue facility and we dropped the little one off with her, along with a new cage and a donation. Due to the week of stormy weather, she was taking care of over 70 baby squirrels! Amazing!
Bye for now... God Bless! Jen

About page - LetOurLightShine.us
I am really excited about my new website featuring an About page which shares a little bit about me as a new shop owner. It gives me the opportunity to share a little bit about why I started my shop and a little of who I am. If you would like to take a look, the link is below:
A big part of each day is spent with these special friends....
This is only two of the nine... all are either rescues or taken when a family member moved or had a baby. They are all getting older now but still give me lots of joy. I would have shared more photos but these are the only two I could put my finger on at the moment. Being a Christian vegan is very important to me. None of my designs include animal products, which I shared in yesterday's post.
This weekend, I will be taking a break from my jewelry and rosary making to spend time with two of my grandsons.
Have a super weekend! God Bless!

Christian Vegan & New Bracelets
One of the really nice things about selling on Etsy is the feeling of community between buyers and sellers. Even though my store is online, there is a sense of knowing those who follow your business. One of the things that you may not know about me, unless you read the fine print in my About section, is that I am a Christian vegan.
For those of you who may not know the difference between vegan and vegetarian, vegans do not eat animals products of any kind. They also do not use items that are made with animal products. So all items in my store do not have any animal products in them. For example, I would not use leather for my jewelry items.
I also have a lot of rescue animals... I have six dogs, a cat, and a parrot. Most were adopted. All are getting up into their mature years, which worries me a bit. The oldest is a parrot and the youngest is a boxer who is 8 years old. All, as of this moment, are in pretty good shape.
I plan to offer coupon codes in the near future on this blog site for a discount on my Christian jewelry and rosaries for first time purchasers. I added two more charm bracelets to my online store, both with a Christian charm. One with a dove and the other with a cross. Here is a sample:
Since I am just beginning my online store, I only ship to the USA at this time. I will get more familiar with shipping to other countries and try and add a few at a time soon.

Etsy Store - New Look - Pattern
Today was one of those stormy days in Central Florida with a potential tropical storm overhead. So, I decided to try my hand at the new program within Etsy called Pattern. It allows you to set up a website within the Etsy platform with your own domain name, if you prefer. I recently purchased the domain name LetOurLightShine.us and so I set up the 30 free trial of Pattern within my shop and LOVE IT! Please check it out and see how different it looks. I now direct my Etsy store to my own domain name - http://www.letourlightshine.us (Very pleased!)
In addition to updating my website, I also added another bracelet to my store. The bracelet is made using the rosary "unbreakable" wire wrap pattern and I made it using gold brass with silver colored accents. I, personally, like the mixture of metals within my bracelets. All of my bracelets have a Christian charm and this one has a silver colored cross. I also use vintage beads because I love the way they look. Here is a photo below of my newest bracelet:
I never use animal products in my designs because I am a Christian vegan. I love animals and nature! Everything is made in my smoke-free home.
Have a great evening!
God Bless....

NEW - Bracelets - Christian Gifts - Handmade - Vintage Crystals - Swarovski
Today, as promised, I added two new items into my Etsy shop. Two beautiful bracelets which are made with the "unbreakable" rosary chain design; wire wrapped by me using Swarovski vintage crystal beads. I am super proud of both of these bracelets. The clasps are also handmade and easy to use.
Using a keychain style jumpring, I added a cross charm to each. Any other charm could be added to this jumpring or others could be added. The blue bracelet also has a handmade charm with a Swarovski bead which is a permanent charm and woven into the design. I am excited about my new additions to my Etsy store.
Originally, I only had rosaries and chaplets in my store but I know that sometimes people are looking for additional Christian gifts and so I designed the bracelets. I love the rosaries with this "unbreakable" wire pattern and thought how beautiful they would be in a bracelet. I hope you agree. God Bless! Jen

Prayer in Troubled Times & A New Item in my Etsy Store
Tomorrow is the 15th anniversary of 9/11. You can't help but think about how lives were changed in moments, never to be the same again. My heart breaks as I listen to the stories from that day in 2001 and know the heartache that will never go away for so many families and loved ones.
Yesterday, I watched a red-tailed hawk swoop down into my back yard and pick up a beautiful dove that I had been feeding at my bird feeders for weeks. It was enjoying the sun and picking up fallen seeds. It's life was gone in an instant. I was not happy to have witnessed this part of nature, but felt like I witnessed it for a reason. When I think about tragedy or loss of life, all life, I am again sure of how important prayer is in our daily lives.
Last night, I looked for an app to begin a prayer journal. There were all kinds of apps for prayer journals... one that you could share your prayer requests all over the world. Others, like the one I chose, was to create a list of prayers that you alone would monitor and remember to pray for each day. I like the fact that you can list your prayer requests and at times be able to see how your prayers were answered. I know that won't always be the case but sometimes it will be possible. Most of the time, I pray for ongoing requests that include health and safety for all of those that I love. There have been occasions where I have prayed in life threatening situations and the person made it through to continue their life. He doesn't always answer as we choose but I believe He always hears us and knows the desires of our heart.
On a lighter note, in a few days, I'm going to share a new item in my Etsy store. I look forward to sharing these newly designed items with you.

Celtic Crucifix Rosary - Free Catholic App - Laudate
For those of you who would like to have a wonderful resource on your phone or mobile device, I have found a great one for you. It is called Laudate and is available for Android and iPhone. I also installed it through Amazon for my Kindle Fire - free.
It has many resources such as prayers, New American Bible, Saint of the Day, Pray-As-You-Go and many others but the one in particular that I wanted to share is saying the Rosary. It gives you many choices; which includes the Divine Mercy Chaplet. For those of us who have not been a Catholic, all our lives, this app gives you many resources at your fingertips. The best part is that it is all in one place.
I'm sharing the One Decade Rosary that I finished and posted in my Etsy store earlier today, as I first mentioned in my post yesterday. The beads are vintage Swarovski and I wire wrapped the chain with brass artistic wire 20 gauge. This wrap is known as "unbreakable" with normal use. I love this combination of wire and beads. Many prayers will be said on this beautiful rosary.

Celtic Chant Music before Prayers
When I was listening to Pray-As-You-Go last night before praying, the music for that day really touched me and prepared my soul for prayer. It was calming and asked you to turn all your burdens over the God. I wanted to share it with you. Come Be With Me
It is a Celtic style chant by Keith Duke. The lyrics are:
Come, be with me
All you who carry heavy burdens;
I will give you rest,
I will give you rest.
I am currently working on a Celtic cross one decade rosary, which I hope to post tomorrow. The traditional five decade rosary shown below is made with Vintage Swarovski® crystal AB, 8mm faceted chessboard round (5005) beads. It is strikingly beautiful! The color in the beads are amazing! I am proud of my rosaries. The beads are heirloom quality.
Please take a moment and listen to the chant above and let your soul feel at peace before you begin your prayers.....

Fifty's Jewelry, Now an Heirloom Rosary
When I began collecting jewelry in the 80s and 90s, it was because I loved beads. Beads of every color, but particularly crystal beads. My mom always loved jewelry and had boxes of bead necklaces given to her by my dad in the 50s and 60s and earlier. We would look through these boxes together and talk about one, then another. I know it was her love of jewelry that encouraged my love of beads.
The one decade rosary (above) that I finished last night and posted in my online storefront today at Etsy (LetOurLightShine) was one of those beautiful beads, transformed from a 50s necklace into this beautiful rosary. Most of the glass and crystal beads during that period was Swarovski, Czech or Bohemian, Murano or Venetian, and West German. This rosary combines the beautiful pink glass beads and Swarovski pink bicone and round beads. Unfortunately, once these glass beads are gone, they are difficult to find.
I am thankful that I collected beads because I love making rosaries and the design combinations are endless.
The thing that stands out in my mind the most is that jewelry styles come and go but rosary beads are a link between you and your prayers and many are passed down through generations. I hope that the rosary and chaplets I design become a meaningful part of someone's prayer life and are heirlooms that they or a loved one will treasure forever.

Rosaries - Extra Strong
Making rosaries is something you do from your heart. For me, it is more of a calling than a business. However, you have to pay for your supplies so that is where the "business" facet comes in. My goal is to sell enough rosaries to buy more supplies and continue to create these beautiful building blocks to prayer. As a retired teacher, I'm not trying to make a living with my rosaries. I hope to let a little light shine through each one.
Strong rosaries aren't something that everyone looks for in a rosary. A rosary can be delicate looking, yet strong. That is what I've learned about making some of my rosaries with stainless steel wire. The reason I know this wire is the strongest is because when I make a rosary out of 20 gauge stainless steel wire, the proof is on my hands. Due to the strength of the wire and the strength you need to turn the wire into the loops you need in your rosary, you create a callus on several places within your hands. When I first started making stainless steel rosaries, I noticed that my hands were no longer smooth on the inside. I decided it was proof that these rosaries are extra strong.
An example of a stainless steel rosary that I have in my shop is below. Under normal use, it would be next to impossible to break the wire on this rosary.
The beads that I use are vintage beads because I like the fact that they are difficult to find and it makes my rosaries unique. Each of us, that make rosaries, try and make our own set of characteristics that make our store stand out. For me, the vintage beads make each rosary or chaplet so much fun to make and an heirloom treasure.
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

The Perfect Gift
If you are like me, you are always on the lookout for a special gift ...the perfect gift.
Years ago, when I was looking for a rosary for a special occasion, I would look at the Christian or Catholic Gift Store. Even though they would have several to choose from, my eyes would always be drawn to the crystal bead rosaries. They were not the Swarovski crystals but were usually Czech glass. I always found something beautiful but in the back of my mind, I was always looking for something more striking and full of color.
I begin collecting beads from the 50s and 60s with my mom. She had several necklaces made with beautiful crystal beads that my father had given her for a special occasion. These were made of Swarovski crystals. Admiring her beads, we began looking for Austrian crystal beads in second hand shops. When we would find a set of crystal beads, we would add it to our collection. The collection of beads grew but with having young children, teaching full time, and other responsibilities, the collection of beads remained stored away with other art and craft items.
This year, when looking through my beads, I began thinking about using the crystals and other vintage beads to make rosaries. Having had previous jewelry making experience, I knew the technique in making wire rosaries. Something just kept nudging me to get started.
One morning, I woke up and the first thought through my mind was to make the rosaries and name my store Let Your Light Shine. When I investigated this name, I found it was taken in online terms. Having felt led to name my store along the lines of the verse Matthew 5:16 and many other verses in the Bible that encourage us to let our light's shine, I decided to change the YOUR to OUR and that is why I named my rosary store and purchase the domain name (website) LetOurLightShine.us.

Once I felt this strong direction to create this online store, I knew why I had collected and saved these beads from so many years ago.
As I design each rosary, I look through all of the boxes of beads and match the beads that I feel are made for the next design. To me, each design is a work of art. Each rosary is unique in that I don't order matching sets of beads, which is great for someone else, but I only use the wide assortment of vintage beads of my own, to mix and match until I find the perfect design. Even if I ran out of my own collection of beads, which won't be for a long time, I would continue to purchase vintage beads because I feel like this is what I'm suppose to be doing to Let Our (My) Light Shine. Its my gift.
Every person looking for a rosary has an eye for something special. My goal is not to get rich or mass produce a design. My goal is to create a unique rosary that will be an heirloom in your family or a loved one's family. The money I make will be used to buy more supplies to make more rosaries. It is my prayer that my rosaries will be an inspiration to you or someone special to pray more and focus more on the power of prayer in your life.

The Power of Prayer
Many years ago, at the young age of 24, I found the power of prayer. It was my first pregnancy and we were all so very excited. On January 11th, 1978 the day arrived for our baby girl to come into this world. The nursery was ready; new carpet - extra thick, Peter Rabbit curtains made by hand, stuffed animals that matched our theme, and a newly painted room. We were ready. But, what we didn't know was that after the whole day of labor, anticipation, and waiting, our little girl would arrive with three problems with her heart. I was never able to hold her, but got to see her several times before she was flown to a large teaching hospital for open heart surgery. You have to remember this was 1978. I prayed for her all night long, all the next day, and through that next night. After many hours of prayer, I asked that God take care of her. Not knowing what the outcome would be, I trusted Him. She made it successfully into the surgery and even through the surgery but could not regain her breathing and passed away on the 13th, early in the morning. At exactly the time of her passing, I sat up in bed and looked at the clock. I felt a great peace come over me. Then went back to sleep.
Later that early morning, I called the hospital where she had her surgery and they informed me that she had passed and the exact time.
Crushed, broken-hearted, and feeling like I was living a nightmare, I returned home to cry and pray inside that newly painted nursery. Each day I would go inside, pick up the baby clothes, blankets, and toys, and pray that God would help take the pain away and help me and my family to get through this tragedy.
It took a year and a half before I saw the answer to my prayers. In August of 1979, after finding out a few months earlier that I was pregnant again and having a baby in early November, I was in the doctor's office for a regular checkup and he said to me, I believe I hear an echo. He listened and listened again, then called the nurse to do an ultrasound. Sure enough, I had not one but two babies. God's answer to my prayers. A miracle!
Sometimes when we are going through difficult times, we find it really hard to understand or even comprehend the pain we are going through. Having faith in God, not questioning why, but trusting in what we don't understand, and knowing God has a purpose in our lives, we make it through to the other side of our pain. We find that even with the hurt, He has blessed us with something wonderful.
I have never taken one minute with my sons for granted and I have always known that He blessed me with these boys, now men.
Not only did He give me two wonderful sons who I love deeply, but the prayer helped me every day from the pain of loosing my daughter. He carried me through it. Just like the footsteps poem.
Prayer is powerful......

Prayer for Animals - St. Francis of Assisi
Prayer that may be said on the medal of St. Francis:
God Our Heavenly Father, You created the world to serve humanity's needs and to lead them to You. By our own fault we have lost the beautiful relationship which we once had with all your creation. Help us to see that by restoring our relationship with You we will also restore it with all Your creation. Give us the grace to see all animals as gifts from You and to treat them with respect for they are Your creation. We pray for all animals who are suffering as a result of our neglect. May the order You originally established be once again restored to the whole world through the intercession of the Glorious Virgin Mary, the prayers of St. Francis and the merits of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You now and forever. Amen.
Saint Francis of Assisi
