Rosary for Breast Cancer Patients - St. Agatha of Sicily

Today I added a one decade rosary with the centerpiece of St. Agatha to my Etsy store.  This rosary is made with vintage pink fire polished Czech beads, a vintage pearl glass Czech Our Father bead, and the St. Agatha centerpiece.  The 1 1/2 inch crucifix was made in Italy and the whole rosary is hand made by me using the unbreakable rosary pattern with nickel silver.

My grandmother had breast cancer many years ago and through the power of prayer, she had it removed and was healed.  St. Agatha had her breasts removed in an act of torture. Even through this horrendous act, she stayed fast in her faith.

St. Agatha is the patron saint of breast cancer patients.
More details about St. Agatha may be read here: Wikipedia of St. Agatha of Sicily

Rosaries and a Chaplet

Today I added a beautiful purple Czech glass five decade rosary to my collection in my Etsy store. I loved the centerpiece and St. Benedict Italian silver crucifix.  Each of the purple Czech beads are vintage and are a light lilac purple.  In addition, I have added fire polished darker purple Our Father beads which add to the beauty of this Catholic Rosary.

I also completed a One Decade Rosary using fire polished red vintage beads with "unbreakable" wire wrapping technique and a Swarovski 5000 vintage bead as the Our Father bead. The centerpiece is Divine Mercy on one side and Our Lady of Fatima on the reverse side.  The centerpiece and crucifix are made with Italian silver.  The wire is 22 gauge silver plate over copper.  It's perfect for your pocket or purse.

The third item I added today is a St. Teresa de Avila Chaplet using Light Turquoise Swarovski 5000 round vintage beads. The wire is 20 gauge silver plated over copper and the medal and St. Benedict crucifix is made of Italian silver.

I love all of these new rosaries and chaplets!
Hope you enjoy my new additional items to my Etsy store.  Today, all were made with Silver.  Hope you enjoy!!

God Bless,
Jen

Rosary Redesigned

Rosary Redesigned

Today as I was looking over my rosaries and chaplets that I made for my Let Our Light Shine Etsy store, there was one set of beads that I felt had something missing. It was an entire rosary made with iridescent blue beads.  The photos hardly do them justice as the colors are so strikingly beautiful, it is hard to capture this even for a photographer. In any case, I knew they needed something special.  My goal, when I make each rosary or chaplet, is to create a heirloom rosary and chaplet that will be something very special.

Originally when I made these beads, the decade beads were so beautiful (blue with shimmering purple and gold) that I decided to leave the Our Father beads the same bead as the decade beads.  As I looked at these beads closely today, I decided the design needed a little tweaking, so I searched through my vintage bead collection, and then removed the Our Father beads and replaced them with beautiful Austrian crystal beads.  These vintage beads, which I collected more than 25 years ago, were full of rainbow colors in the light and would make the perfect upgrade to these already beautiful rosary beads.

Lesson learned... even when you have completely finished a design, there is still room to improve.  Don't leave it the way it is unless you are in love with the finished product. Now, it is ready for someone special.  God Bless.

It has been a few months since I last posted a blog.  I have a few ideas that I haven't worked out but I am working.  I don't know i...
