There is no such thing as a hopeless cause, only those who give up hope. St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, TN is an example, due to it's research the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common type of childhood cancer, has increased from 4 percent in 1962 when to hospital was founded to 94 percent today due to their research.
